Executive Team

Bergen Risk Solutions is designed to meet clients’ needs for tailor-made and specific risk analyses and risk mitigation strategies. We have extensive work experience from countries where political and security risks are significant challenges.

Arild Nodland – Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Mr Nodland is a former advisor to the United Nations and European Union with ten years of work experience in global conflict areas. He has served as an officer with the Norwegian armed forces in NATO and UN peacekeeping missions worldwide.

Mr Nodland holds two Masters Degrees, one in International Studies (1993) – specializing in defence and security studies, and a Master of Arts degree (2005) specialising in political risk analysis and religions’ role in global politics.

Odin Hjellestad – Advisor and Partner

Mr Hjellestad has worked with the United Nations in Afghanistan and UN peacekeeping missions with the Norwegian armed forces. He has studied Social Anthropology at the University of Bergen and is a trained pilot from the North American Institute of Aviation. Mr Hjellestad has also worked as a journalist and seaman.

Ingrid Mellingen – Advisor and Senior Analyst

Ingrid Mellingen has a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies (2004) specialising in counter terrorism. She has previously worked for Jane’s Information Group as a researcher on terrorism and insurgency. She is also specialised in Human Rights Monitoring, Election Observation and studied Business Communication at Haas Business School.
