How We Work

Bergen Risk Solutions delivers services in all phases of the risk-management process:

Identification; analysis and risk-response.

It is our mission to contribute to increased insight into threats and uncertainties facing private and public ventures operating in high risk environments.

Risk Identification

Together with our clients, we go through our standardised Checklist for Political and Security Risks in order to identify potential risk factors as early as possible in the decision making process. The checklist is a synthesis of risk factors produced by Bergen Risk Solutions following studies of parameters utilized by serious entities (insurance companies, the United Nations and research institutions) that all have extensive experience working in high-risk areas. We have added our own analytical and practical background to the checklist. It works as a starting point in the risk-identification process, and can be tailored, contracted and expanded to meet the specific requirements of our clients.

Risk Analysis

After reaching an understanding with our clients on the relevant risks, we systematically collect and analyse information. In addition to open sources, we use our partners, network and field missions in the process. The end-result is a report meeting our clients’ requirements. We are 100% independent of third-party interests and will work hard to cover all relevant issues representing potential risks to our clients’ plans and activities.

Risk response

Knowledge must be acted upon in order to lower risk exposure. We assist in security planning and implementation of risk reduction measures. Our staring point for doing so is the Minimum Operation Security Standards used by the United Nations.  Bergen Risk Solutions’ executive team has lived by the standards themselves in several high risk areas and know that they work. We will ensure they work for our clients as well.
